I’m Makayla! I’m currently working out of Newark Ohio, where I am shooting on vintage film cameras to create art and preserve memories.

I love that analog forms of photography allow for us to slow down and pay attention to the moment we are capturing. The camera has no automatic sensors, all the settings have to be chosen by hand based on the light in the moment. Chemicals have to be measured and timed while developing. The end result of this process is a one of a kind photograph that can be treasured for years to come. 

 

Film photography has the ability to tell our individual stories, and to showcase humanity in a unique light. I can't wait to share this process with you!
